So, the idea that struck is still in the initial stages...it will work, but getting supplies donated is going slow. (I need a metric ton of neckties)
Working on some really cute shrugs and have about 7-8 monkeys almost done. I also think I've worked out the design issues with my purses, so should be back on those soon.
Had some computer SNAFU's that left me unable to log into Blogger for a while. I accidentally deleted the file that had my passwords in it and when I updated my browser, the cookies were eaten. (that will teach me to keep my passwords in a text file and not on paper)
Anyway.
Back to updating.
I've been working my butt off lately, unfortunately it hasn't been on stuff for the site. On the other hand, I've gotten a huge upgrade to my skills. In the past few months I've made a gold brocade cassock and an 18th Century servants gown. Oh, and two rockin corsets and a tutu. Yay for working in the university costume shop!
The gold cassock - Theatre UAB - Scenes from an Execution - Fall 2008
Corset, Tutu, Necklace & Crown w/Veil - Marci Agnes Designs - Day of the Dead 2008
Corset - Marci Agnes Designs - 2009 (yep, that's little ole me)
18th Century servants gown - Theatre UAB - The Rivals - Spring 2009
Add in some bellydance costuming (pantaloons, skirts and hair flowers mostly) and some actual bellydancing and I've been one busy monkey.
Next week is spring break (yay!) and I plan on finishing all the wonderful goodies for the store. See ya soon!!!
Those responsible for delaying the delay have been sacked. ;-)
Seriously, we had a (very unexpected) death in the family. I should be getting things live this week, but in the meantime.....
As Wil Wheaton says, what's the point in having a blog if you cann't be goofy sometimes? In the true spirit of Monkeys from Mars I present the most 80's of 80's videos (aka - my top 10 cheezy 80's vids - originally in no particular order, but really - they just keep getting more esoteric and/or twisted as I go - you know you love it):
#1 - Tom Tom Club - Genius of Love
#2 - George Clinton - Atomic Dog
A double dose of Adam (and the) Ant(s)
#3 - Goody Two Shoes (cause ya know - we get him shirtless at the beginning)
#4 - Puss 'N Boots (you know you can't get enough of those sleeve cuffs!!!)
#5 - Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (complete with TBS "Night Tracks" lead in)
#6 - Art of Noise (feat. Max Headroom) - Paranoimia
#7 - Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive (don't even try to tell me this didn't wig you out as a kid)
#8 - Laurie Anderson - Language is a Virus
#9 - Lou Reed - No Money Down (ok, forget Hyperactive - this one twisted me for life)
#10 - Madness - House of Fun - from their guest appearance on "The Young Ones" - a song about a 16 year old trying (and failing) to buy his first condom sung on one of my fave BBC shows ever
But you see, this list, it goes to 11 - And even though there isn't an actual video for it - from 1984 - Steve Vai - Little Green Men
(and in the spirit of those who have passed - that last one was for you, Ross)
